Songs With a Spiritual Flavour
 My Lord What a Morning   African-American spiritual that has become a firm favourite of the choir and which regularly features in our concert programme.
     
God's Choir   A fabulously energetic and uplifting piece of music that is often used as the first song in a concert.
     
How Great Thou Art   Instantly recognisable hymn with an interesting pedigree, having originated in Sweden in the 19th century, translated into Russian before the English version appeared in 1920 with some extra lyrics.
     
Sunset Poem   Written for the famous radio programme "Under Milk Wood" by Dylan Thomas. It is a lovely, simple song with very meaningful lyrics.
     
Morte Christe   Sometimes referred to as "When I Survey the Wondrous Cross", it really needs no introduction. It is a hymn featured by most Male Voice Choirs.
     
 O Holy Night   A ancient French Carol from 1843,with English lyrics written in 1855, it has been recorded by many artists, including Josh Groban, Celine Dione and Andrea Bocelli.
     
Gaudet'e    A hymn with a very interesting harmony, performed in Latin.
     
Every Time I Feel The Spirit   An African-American Spiritual, dating from before the American Civil War. The song has been frequently recorded by contemporary artists and Gospel Music Groups.
